Submitting your work

Tasks & Projects · Students & Scholars · Updated

All evaluation work is submitted through the Sovrano AI platform. Here's what to keep in mind:

  • Review your submissions carefully before finalising — some task types allow only one submission per item.
  • Your work goes through a quality review process. Submissions may be approved, sent back for edits, or flagged.
  • Maintain consistent quality throughout your session. Rushing through tasks to increase volume will be noticed and may affect your project standing.
  • If you're unsure about a task, use the project's communication channels (typically Discord) to ask your project lead.

Quality expectations

Your justifications and rationales should be specific and evidence-based. "Response A was better overall" will not be accepted. "Response A correctly identifies three risk factors while B only mentions one" will. See our RLHF Guide for detailed examples of good vs. poor justifications.

Frequently asked questions

Can I edit my submission after I've submitted it?

This depends on the task type and project configuration. Some tasks allow edits within a short window after submission. Others are final once submitted. Check the task instructions or ask your project lead.

What happens if my submission is rejected?

You'll receive a notification explaining why. Depending on the project, you may have the opportunity to revise and resubmit. Repeated rejections may trigger a quality review of your overall performance.

How long does the quality review process take?

Most submissions are reviewed within a few days. Some projects have faster turnaround. You can track the status of your submissions in your dashboard.

Can I appeal a rejected submission?

Yes. If you believe a rejection was made in error, respond to the rejection notification with your reasoning and evidence. Appeals are reviewed by a senior reviewer or project lead.

Does submission speed matter?

Quality always takes priority over speed. While reasonable throughput is expected, rushing through tasks to increase volume will lower your quality scores and may result in warnings. Consistent, high-quality work is what keeps you on projects.

What if I accidentally submit an incomplete task?

Contact your project lead on Discord immediately. Depending on the project setup, they may be able to reopen the task for you. Do not submit a second version without confirming with your lead first.

How do I know if my work meets quality standards?

Pay attention to any feedback on rejected or returned submissions. Some projects share aggregate quality metrics or have calibration sessions. When in doubt, ask your project lead for examples of strong submissions.

Is there a daily or weekly submission quota?

Quotas vary by project and contract type. Hourly contracts are governed by your weekly hour cap. Deliverable-based contracts specify the expected output. Your project lead will communicate any specific targets.
