Open roles

We're 15 people in Barcelona. Five roles are open, and each one runs a real part of the company. Open a role to see the detail. No cover letter needed — a CV and a few lines is enough, and we reply to everyone within five working days.

Delivery

Special Project Lead

Own live client work end to end: the team, the quality bar, the client and the margin.

BarcelonaFull-timeSalary plus equity

What you own

  • The work you ship, end to end: the plan, the team, the quality, the client, the margin.
  • The quality system. How work gets scored against a written standard, what goes back for a rewrite, and what goes out the door. This is most of the job.
  • Growth. Taking a project from dozens of experts to more than a thousand is a structure problem, and you build the structure.
  • Four numbers, posted every week, so nobody has to ask how it is going.

What we need

  • Five years or more of work, with at least three running projects end to end where failing would have cost real money, and it did not fail.
  • Time spent somewhere data quality was the product, whether that was running data projects, research operations or analytics.
  • You have coordinated large groups of people who did not report to you.
  • Professional English, used with clients every day. Consulting experience is welcome if you owned the result and not just the advice.

Engineering

RL Environment Engineer

Build the environments and graders that models train and get measured in. Code, not prompts.

BarcelonaFull-timeSalary plus equity

What you own

  • The environments. Build, containerise and version the tasks models train and get evaluated in, with setup and teardown that behave the same way every run.
  • Grading. Turn an expert's judgment into a scorer that runs on its own, and know when a task still needs a person instead.
  • The harness. Run models against environments at scale, keep results reproducible, and make failures easy to debug.
  • The bridge to our experts. Turn real work from someone who knows a field into a task that is hard for a model and fair to score.

What we need

  • Strong Python, and you are comfortable a layer down in containers, CI and cloud infrastructure.
  • You have built something a model or an agent interacts with: a simulator, a sandbox, a test harness, a grading pipeline or an evaluation suite.
  • You can read a paper and turn it into working code.
  • You care about correctness. A reward that is quietly wrong is worse than no reward at all.
  • Professional English. Barcelona based, or in our time zone.

Universities

University Partnerships Lead

Own the university network and the internship programme that everything else here sits on.

BarcelonaFull-timeSome travel

What you own

  • The network. Signing the best universities in Europe, from career services all the way up to deans.
  • The programme, country by country, so students get real academic credit and we stay on the right side of the rules in every market.
  • Filling the cohorts. A new group of students starts every month, and they do not fill themselves.
  • The team. You hire the two or three people who run this with you once it works.

What we need

  • Five years or more in university partnerships, employer relations, academic programmes or placements, with a network you can name.
  • You have worked across Europe rather than one country, and you know how differently Spain, Germany, France, the Nordics and Benelux behave.
  • You have built a placement or internship programme from nothing, including the boring legal and admin parts.
  • Professional English plus at least one other European language. Barcelona based or willing to move.

Finance

Finance and Operations Manager

Our first finance hire. Own the close, the cash, collections, and the monthly payment run.

BarcelonaFull-timeSalary plus equity

What you own

  • The monthly close, start to finish. You run it, you sign it off, and it lands on the same date every month.
  • Paying the experts across every country we work in, on time and correct. This is the part people feel directly.
  • Collections. Chasing a late invoice sits with you, not with the founders.
  • Two numbers every week without being asked: cash in the bank, and how long it lasts.

What we need

  • Three years or more in finance at a startup or scale-up, where the process did not exist yet and the answer was needed today.
  • Three years or more of hands-on accounting. You have closed books and defended how you treated something, not only reported on it.
  • Real experience with Spanish tax and statutory filings, withholding on contractor invoices, VAT, and the monthly and quarterly returns.
  • Professional English and Spanish. Barcelona based or willing to move.

Brand

Communications Lead

Own how Sovrano shows up in the world: our voice, our writing, our press and our brand.

BarcelonaFull-timeHybrid

What you own

  • The story. Turn our research into things people actually read and repeat.
  • Press. Build real relationships with journalists, land coverage, and run our announcements.
  • Everything we publish, from LinkedIn and X to the blog and the long pieces that say what we think about AI in Europe.
  • The brand. Voice, look, message, and every launch moment from start to finish.

What we need

  • Five years or more in communications, PR, content or editorial, owning the result rather than executing inside a big team.
  • A strong writer. This one is not negotiable. You can take a complicated idea and make it sharp and worth sharing.
  • You have pitched journalists, landed coverage and run an announcement.
  • Comfortable with technical subjects, and English at native or near-native level. Spanish is a plus.

Working here

What these jobs have in common.

You own the whole thing

Every role here is something a founder is doing right now and should not be. You get the decisions, the budget, and the first hire under you.

Provable, not plausible

We sell expert judgment people can trust, so we hold our own claims to the same bar. Numbers get checked against where they came from.

Fast, and written down

We move in days rather than quarters, and we write things down so somebody else can pick them up and run them.

European on purpose

Different countries, different languages and local knowledge are the product here, not paperwork we put up with.

Applying

How to apply

Send your CV and a short note on why the job fits you. If you have work you are proud of, include it. We care more about the work than the cover letter, and we reply to everyone either way within five working days.
