How the assessment works

AI Assessment · Students & Scholars · Updated

Assessments are the primary way we evaluate your suitability for evaluation projects. Completing an assessment well can qualify you for multiple roles automatically — it's often faster than applying to individual listings.

Key details

  • All assessments are centralised in your dashboard under the Assessments tab.
  • "Recommended" assessments are selected based on your profile and currently active opportunities.
  • Categories include domain-specific assessments (legal, medical, financial, etc.) and general evaluation assessments.
  • Most assessments allow only one submission — review your answers thoroughly before submitting.
  • Strong results can lead to direct project invitations or instant offers.

Assessment rules

  • Copy/paste may be disabled during certain assessments.
  • AI and LLM tools are strictly prohibited unless the assessment explicitly states otherwise. See our AI/LLM Usage Policy.
  • Assessment data is never sold or shared commercially.

Frequently asked questions

Can I retake an assessment if I fail or perform poorly?

Most assessments allow only one submission. However, some assessment types may offer retakes after a cooldown period. Check the specific assessment details in your dashboard for retake availability.

Is there a time limit for completing an assessment?

Yes, most assessments have a time limit that is displayed before you begin. Once started, the timer runs continuously — you cannot pause and resume. Make sure you have a quiet, uninterrupted block of time before starting.

Do assessments expire?

Assessment results remain valid for 12 months in most cases. If a project requires a more recent result, you may be asked to retake it. You'll be notified if an assessment result has expired.

Can I use notes or reference materials during an assessment?

This depends on the assessment type. Some assessments explicitly allow reference materials; others are closed-book. The instructions at the start of each assessment will clearly state what is and isn't permitted.

Can one assessment qualify me for multiple roles?

Yes. A strong result on a domain assessment (e.g., legal or medical) can qualify you for any project that requires that domain expertise. Your results are automatically matched against open roles.

I accidentally closed my browser during an assessment. Is my progress lost?

It depends on how far you progressed. Some assessments auto-save between sections, but if the timer was running, it will have continued. Contact hello@sovrano.ai immediately with the assessment name and the time the issue occurred.

How are assessments scored?

Scoring criteria vary by assessment type. Generally, assessments evaluate accuracy, depth of reasoning, domain knowledge, and clarity of communication. You will not receive a detailed score breakdown, but you will be informed of the outcome.

I have a disability and need accommodations for the assessment. Who do I contact?

Email hello@sovrano.ai with details about the accommodation you need before starting the assessment. The team will work with you to find an appropriate solution.
