Updating your personal details on Deel

Keep your Deel profile accurate. Address, phone, email, and bank details all matter for getting paid and for tax compliance.

What you can update yourself

  • Address — Settings → Personal Details. Updates take effect immediately. If you move countries, also update your tax residency.
  • Phone number — Same screen. Used for SMS-based 2FA and identity confirmation, so keep it current.
  • Email address — Settings → Login & Security. You'll need to confirm the new email by clicking a link Deel sends you. The link expires in one hour.
  • Bank account / withdrawal method — Withdrawals section. New methods may go through "Additional Screening" the first time.

What requires Deel support

Some changes need manual review by Deel because they affect compliance:

  • Legal name change (e.g. after marriage) — Upload supporting documentation through Deel's chat or settings.
  • Date of birth correction — Required for identity verification consistency.
  • Country of residence change — May require a new tax form, new contract, and re-verification.
  • Account type switch (individual ↔ entity) — You can initiate from settings, but it goes through a review.

Frequently asked questions

I moved to a new country. What do I update?

In Deel: address, tax residency, and (if relevant) tax forms. In your Sovrano AI profile: city and country. Also email your project lead so they know your time zone changed. If your new country has different employment rules, contact payroll@sovrano.ai — we may need to revise your contract.

My name on Deel doesn't match my ID. Will this cause problems?

Yes. Identity verification and bank transfers can fail if names don't match. Fix it before you next withdraw. Upload supporting documents (passport, official name change document) via Deel's chat.

Can I switch from individual to entity (or back) without losing my history?

Yes. Your contract history and earnings stay with your account when you switch account types. The new account type only affects how future invoices are issued. Initiate the switch from your Deel settings; Deel reviews and confirms.

I changed my email on Sovrano AI. Does Deel update automatically?

No. The two accounts are independent. Update each one separately.

How long does it take Deel to approve a name or country change?

Typically 1–3 business days once you've uploaded the required documents. Contact payroll@sovrano.ai if it's blocking a payout.
